INDICATIONS
Intramuscular Injection.
DICLOTAL-AQ Injection is indicated in the treatment of following conditions:
  • Exacerbations of inflammatory and degenerative forms of rheumatism: rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, spondyloarthritis, gouty arthritis, non-articular rheumatism.
  • Post-traumatic and post-operative pain, inflammation and swelling.
  • Renal colic and biliary colic.
  • Treatment of painful conditions due to inflammation of non-rheumatic origin.

Intravenous Infusion.
Treatment or prevention of post-operative pain in a hospital setting.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Intramuscular (IM) Injection (intradeltoid or deep intragluteal injection into the upper outer quadrant).
The usual dose of diclofenac is 75 mg daily. In severe exceptional conditions (e.g. colic) dose may be increased to 75 mg twice daily, separated by an interval of few hours. If more than one injection is required daily, it is advised that alternative site should be used for second injection.

Intravenous (IV) infusion (in hospital setting).
For the treatment of moderate to severe post-operative pain: 75 mg of diclofenac should be infused continuously over a period of 30 minutes to 2 hours. If necessary, treatment may be repeated after a few hours (4-6 hours).

For prevention of post-operative pain: Loading dose of 25 mg to 50 mg should be infused after surgery over 15 minutes to 1 hour, followed by a continuous infusion of approximately 5 mg per hour.

Maximum dose of diclofenac injection is 150 mg/day and not to be given for more than 2 days. Or, as prescribed by the physician.
