COMPOSITION
EXTACEF-TAZO 1125 mg (I.V. / I.M. Injection)
Each Glass Vial Contains:
Sterile Ceftriaxone Sodium IP eq. to Anhydrous Ceftriaxone 1000 mg
Sterile Tazobactum Sodium eq. to Tazobactum 125 mg
 
INDICATIONS
Complicated intra-abdominal infections, recurrent UTI, endocarditis due to ESBL, confirmed staphylococcal, Kleb pneumoniae, Prot mirabilis, Acinetobacter spp infections, Gram negative infections in ICU patients, pediatric RTIs, critically ill patients, elderly patients with comorbid illness, neonatal septicemia, nosocomial infections, necrotizing surgical infections, resistant plague
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Parenteral (IM/IV):
Adult:
1-2 g ceftriaxone IM / IV od, upto max of 4 g daily as od / bid;
Surgical prophylaxis: 1 g ceftriaxone IM / IV ½-2 hours before surgery;
Uncomplicated gonococcal infection: 1 g ceftriaxone IM / IV stat
Children: 50-100 mg / kg / day IM / IV as bid upto max of 2-4 g / day;
Acute bacterial otitis media: 50 mg ceftriaxone / kg IM stat, upto max 1 g / day.
