COMPOSITION
ETERNA-MD 4 Tablets
Each uncoated orally disintegrating tablet contains:
Ondansetron hydrochloride IP equivalent to Ondansetron 4 mg
 
INDICATIONS
  • Prevention of postoperative nausea and/or vomiting
  • Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy
  • Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with radiotherapy
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral use

  • Prevention of postoperative nausea and/or vomiting: Adults: 16 mg of ondansetron should be given 1 hour before induction of anesthesia or 8 mg 1 hour before anesthesia followed by 8 mg at intervals of 8 hours for 2 further doses. Or, as prescribed by the physician.
  • Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy. Children over 12 years and adults: 8 mg twice daily. The first dose should be administered 30 minutes before the start of therapy, with a subsequent dose 8 hours after the first dose. Subsequently, 8 mg of ondansetron should be administered every 12 hours for 1 to 2 days after completion of chemotherapy.

    Children 4 to 11 years: 4 mg three times daily. The first dose should be administered 30 minutes before the start of therapy, with subsequent doses 4 and 8 hours after the first dose. Subsequently, 4 mg of ondansetron should be administered every 8 hours for 1 to 2 days after completion of chemotherapy
  • Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with radiotherapy: Adults: 8 mg 3 times daily. 8 mg of ondansetron should be administered 1 to 2 hours before radiotherapy, with subsequent doses every 8 hours for 1 to 2 days after completion of radiotherapy.
